2018's Whiting & Hammond Sevens takes place over two days - Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th April 2018

It again includes the regional 24 Sevens qualifying event.
The 24 Sevens Series is England Rugby’s national sevens competition for adult players. It comprises several tiers of competition with a local and regional qualifying stage, culminating in a national final to be held at Bath’s Recreation Ground.
Tournament tiers.
Each local qualifier event will feature a minimum of one woman’s and two men’s tournaments:-
• An Open competition, which may feature club and non-club teams. Teams within this competition will have the opportunity to progress from local to regional to national events if they are successful at each level.

• A Social competition, which may feature club and non-club teams. Teams within this competition will not progress, but will compete only within the event which they enter.
In conjunction with the Kent RFU, the regional Open qualifier (and Social tournament) will again be held as part of the well-established Tunbridge Wells Sevens weekend in April and all clubs in Kent will be encouraged to enter to make it a county wide event.
The Men’s event will be held on Saturday 28th April and the Women’s 24 Sevens qualifier will be run as part of a “Festival of Female Rugby” on Sunday 29th April, incorporating the Kent u13s, 15s and 18s Girls Sevens as well.
